Designing, building and managing dementia friendly gardens

Paxman Landscapes have been appointed as Project Managers and Consultants, providing a dementia friendly garden for a residential care home in Methley, Leeds.  The landscaping team will also complete the Design and Build scheme.Dementia friendly gardens

Involved with the project from its earliest inception, the Paxman’s team and their in-house designer have produced plans for dementia-friendly gardens at Ashlands, Methley, a residential care home in Leeds.

One of a growing portfolio of garden designs and constructed schemes within the residential care sector, Paxman Landscapes dementia-friendly garden will incorporate pathways, timber structures and a water feature, nestled safely within an ornamental planting plan.

Designed specifically for those in later life to enjoy, the sensory garden has pockets of interest in colour, smell and foliage and raised beds to help those with mobility issues to share the garden’s beauty. The scheme will continue this Summer and we will feature some progress photos and some of the finished gardens when complete.
