Paxman Landscapes Grounds Team have been working late into the night to ensure the site is ready for the Duke of York visit  to University of Huddersfield today (Wednesday 25 March 2015).

The landscaped areas and surrounding green open space have been maintained by the Paxman Grounds Maintenance team since last year.  This is the second time this year that the team have prepared the landscape for Royal perusal, following Princess Anne’s visit back in January 2015.

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, will be laying a foundation stone at the planned new building on the Queensgate campus.   The Prince is the Patron of the University.

The grounds maintenance team have been preparing by litter picking, planting spring bedding in tubs and bulking up shrub beds with new ornamental flowering shrubs. Praising the team, the University’s Facilities Manager, Courtney McAuley thanked them for their “overwhelming commitment” to the Royal Visit preparations and the landscape maintenance programme in general.

The Duke of York will also be presenting The Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Awards to a number of students and graduates, marking their successes in business start-ups.
