Entering the APL Awards in 2027 for the first time in 10 years, J Paxman Landscapes are celebrating their return to APL membership with a shortlisted entry. With APL visits planned to our shortlisted project this month (August 2026), we are hopeful that the judges will also see the qualities and merits of our nominated project.
Paxman Landscapes won Best Community Garden in the APL Awards in 2017 for their Sky Roof Garden. The stunning outdoor space sits atop the Hat Box Milliners Wharf residential apartments in the heart of the City of Manchester. In 2017, it was one of three shortlisted entries for which the team were hopeful of success.

Sky Garden, Manchester – APL Best Community Garden 2017
In the last two years, the J Paxman Landscapes soft landscaping team have enjoyed award recognition for their Show Gardens across two consecutive Harrogate Flower Shows – in 2025 winning Best in Show and Platinum Awards for the APL “Garden for Gathering” designed by APL member Melissa Morten and this year winning Gold for ‘Common Ground’, a shared urban garden designed to encourage connection through modular planting, seating and communal outdoor use.
Finalists of the APL Awards 2027 are announced in October 2026, with winners presented their awards at the APL Awards in March 2027. The Awards this year are sponsored by LandscapePlus.
