Estimating Assistant (Bill of Quantities and Take Offs)
The Role
J Paxman Landscapes is an established commercial and domestic landscaping contractor based in Huddersfield, delivering hard landscaping, soft landscaping and grounds maintenance projects across the region. We are looking for an organised, detail-focused individual to join our team on a part-time basis, supporting the preparation of bills of quantities for civil and soft landscaping projects.

- Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour DOE
- Hours: 21 per week, 3 days
- Office-based (Huddersfield HD5 0NZ)

The Role
-
- Taking off areas, lengths and counts from landscape and civil drawings using Bluebeam Revu.
- Inputting trees, shrubs and other plant material from our in-house library into spreadsheets, matching species, sizes and specifications to the drawings.
- Building up bills of quantities for soft landscaping, hard landscaping and associated civil works.
- Checking quantities and data for accuracy and consistency before submission.
- Maintaining and updating our plant and materials library as required.
About You
-
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to data entry.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar measurement software is desirable; full training can be provided.
- An interest in, or knowledge of, landscaping, horticulture, construction or quantity surveying would be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.

Site Supervisor - Soft Landscape Contracts
We’re looking for a Site Supervisor – Soft landscaping and Grounds Maintenance. You should have soft landscaping and supervisory experience, a CSCS card and a full valid driving licence.
As a J Paxman Landscapes Site Supervisor you’ll be involved with the creation of quality commercial and domestic landscapes and gardens, ensuring your workmanship is of a consistently high quality, completed on time and maintaining a professional approach to each project in line with JPL training, standards and due consideration of Health and Safety legislation.
This exciting, varied role requires previous landscaping experience and a hard-working, positive attitude, working outdoors within a like-minded team on varied soft landscaping and planting projects.

We’re looking for a Site Supervisor -hard landscaping – someone with hard landscaping and supervisory experience, along with ability to operate and maintain plant including a 360 digger and dumper – CSCS card and a full valid driving licence essential.

J Paxman Landscapes has a rich history of developing horticultural and landscape apprentices through their in-house Landscape Apprenticeship Programme.
