Social distancing with natural planting from JPL
Helping the high street return to a new type of normality, JPL have been busy planting up wooden planters with shrubs in Huddersfield town centre.

The Planting List
Choosing plants that are both robust and resilient, the planters are multi-faceted, adding a welcome splash of nature to the urban environment whilst working hard as screening and social distancing markers as the town returns to some semblance of activity this Summer.
The planting pallette includes hardy shrubs, perennials and trees, offering a combination of foliage interest, form, shape and height from planter to planter.

Natural barriers
The car-free zones and pedestrian areas of the central shopping area are lined with the planters, manufactured and supplied by Big Red Construction and expertly planted by the JPL team.
Extra care and attention was shown to the larger tree planters, requiring underground securing, staking and irrigation for each tree.
JPL have been responsible for the plants’ initial maintenance and aftercare to ensure the healthiest of establishment. This has been handed over for the longer term to the Council themselves to manage.
