From early transplants to spring planting
It might not have looked much back in January, but the team had made the best progress possible at Rockingham units, Barnsley back in early 2026. The team set to the planting, staking and tree guard protecting of whips and transplants at this commercial development for contractors BDB Design Build. Timing was critical to ensure we had all the bare-root stock in the ground within its planting season.
The groundworks were completed and we have returned in April and May to finish the peripheral planting. We had a little more work to do when the beds were formed, and all of these were then either planted or seeded. The weather conditions at the turn of the year had hampered the seeding, but we returned this Spring to finish what we had started.
Early January Planting
- Staked and ready
- Protected whips
- Standard trees staked and tied
Planting #2: The Soft Landscape team return to site
Picking up where we had left off earlier in the year, the Soft Landscape team set to completing the mass woodland planting, including the rescheduled seeding and the placing, planting and protecting of native hedgerows.
Within the complex, we also installed a seating area using interlocking grass reinforcement mats to create a natural hardstanding area for the benches.
