Keeping it in the family

This month we have been creating two private rear gardens for our very own Mick Mellard, who retired in 2025 after giving J Paxman Landscapes 22 loyal and hard-working years of service.  One for Mick and one for his daughter, the gardens feature patios, curved retaining walls, turfing and designs that level up the landscape.

Outdoor space for some well-deserved downtime

Mick’s garden has an unusual shape. Designing with planting, perspective and practicality in mind, the landscape team prepared the ground, creating two patios joined by pathways with a central lawn and side border.

Family space for entertaining and outdoor play

Mick’s daughters garden has a sloping level to contend with. Here, we created a curved retaining wall to add interest and character. The patio added extra seating space and the levelled up lawn area opened up new opportunities for outdoor play for the family.
