Landscaping specialists across sector and discipline
Whilst we pride ourselves on our larger commercial landscaping schemes (we domake a grand job of a grand job!), we’re just as pleased with the smaller private landscape work that we complete. Customers in both sectors need good communication, design and close attention to specification, deadlines and exceeding expectations. Our hard landscaping and planting teams provide smaller solutions to homeowners and private companies, be it paving, pathways, walls, patios or timberwork. We’ve been busy on a number of smaller projects which have been completed throughout the spring and we’re just as proud of these, too. So, here they are!

Low maintenance beds, paving, wall and ground preparation
You know we loveshow gardens. Our Harrogate Flower Show journey has taken us through 3 years of garden creativity with spectacular results and some gold awards for good measure! On the back of our recent show garden success we have been selected to work in partnership with the RHS Show team at their brand new show: RHS Chatsworth Flower Show this June 2017.
Our landscaping team and skills will be put to work on the Show’s centrepiece and hub – the Floral Marquee. Bringing the majestic homage to the Joseph Paxton’s original Great Conservatory to life – the largest glass building in England when it was assembled in 1840 – we will be constructing raised beds and undertaking the planting of trees and shrubs, ably assisted by the Chatsworth House garden team. This time, however, the centrepiece will be represented as a 14-metre high inflatable dome!
We will be on site in May in the lead-up to the Show, which takes place from Wednesday 7th June to Saturday 11th June 2017.
On behalf of Morgan Sindall, the grounds landscaping at University of Huddersfield is now complete and handed over to their maintenance teams. Beds were prepared, top soil applied and plants supplied, laid out and planted to create a swathe of herbaceous and grasses along walkways and borders to greet students and staff onsite.
Repeat Success at Harrogate Spring Flower Show 2017
A show garden starts to breathe from the first thought of its original concept. It takes its first steps with a planting plan and starts to walk through its planning, sourcing materials and seeking partners. Then, as it edges closer to maturity at the show build stage, it comes alive and takes on its own form. This year, our baby grew into the Gold Award-winning Fresh Start Show Garden and took everyone’s breath away with its beauty. We couldn’t have been prouder parents!
The Fresh Start Garden signified a new beginning in many ways – a new outlook across the world, in the UK and closer to home too as the Paxman team take the next steps in our progression as one of the leading commercial and domestic landscaping companies in the North of England.
Our Garden claimed the team’s latest Gold – a third in as many Shows and following other successes this season at the Association of Professional Landscapers Awards for another top-flight landscaping scheme. This year we went one better, adding the Newby Cup for Planting Quality to our bursting bag of accolades from the Show judges.
If you were lucky enough to have visited the Show and the Fresh Start Garden, you would have seen Justin Paxman, our director and ever-present landscaper, designer and spokesperson, in full flow, talking to visitors and sharing his experiences.
To all of you who have helped us on the Fresh Start journey this year – sponsors, suppliers, constructors, visitors and supporters – may we take this opportunity to say THANK YOU. And if you’ve made a Fresh Start yourself this year (or are planning to!), we hope our show garden may have provided a little gentle inspiration along the way.
We’ve made a little video review for those of you who perhaps couldn’t make it over the Show week (or who just want to take it all in once again!)
Launched earlier this year, Wonderwall self watering vertical garden planters allow you to have a green wall ANYWHERE! And that includes as a backdrop to our Fresh Start garden at Harrogate, too.
There are many options the new planters give you for your garden and landscape, inside or out. The Wonderwall team are adding to their stockists list every day too – see their new website (under construction) at www.wonderwall.direct
Thanks, Wonderwall! Take a look at their new video which will bring it all to life.
For a show garden with a difference and a strong theme such as our Fresh Start: Year of Greenery Garden, we wanted something a little special when it came to creating a backdrop and sections within the garden. And that’s where Stark & Greensmith came in. With their Branches range of powder-coated aluminium garden panels, we have the perfect blend of colour, texture and design.
The team at Stark & Greensmith are providing 4 of their off-the-shelf panels but one quick peek at the rest of their ranges on www.starkandgreensmith.com and a whole world of bespoke designs opens up. A welcome addition to our show garden this year at Harrogate, the architectural panels, laser-cut and de-burred, have given us a strong, long lasting, affordable, and beautiful alternative to traditional wooden fencing.
Thanks for you support and involvement throughout the design, supply and build.
Marshalls Paving: Supporting a Registered Installer
As a Marshalls Registered Installer, Paxman Landscapes are pleased to have the support and backing for their Fresh Start Year of Greenery Show Garden from the UK’s leading supplier of hard landscaping products, Marshalls.
As the Fresh Start Garden has a blend of planting, paving, water and features, Marshalls will supply the materials for the paving and wall elements.

DELIVITA wood-fired table top ovens: Made in Yorkshire
Officially launched at the Ideal Home Exhibition earlier this month, the new DELIVITA Italian-inspired lifestyle brand is the brainchild of two Yorkshire entrepreneurs – and they’re going to take the outdoor cooking world by storm in our Fresh Start Show Garden at Harrogate next week!
Joe Formisano and Olivia Robinson from Delivita have launched their handcrafted table-top wood-fired oven range – all manufactured right here in Yorkshire. Perfect pizza in just 90 seconds, once the oven has heated – and they’re such and incredibly stylish addition to an outdoor dining area, too.
“Our heritage is Italian, so food and family are at the heart of every occasion, with pizza often playing a starring role,” explained Joe.
“We realised the world was missing something – a good quality artisan home pizza oven at an attainable price.” – Joe Formisano, DELIVITA
Joe and Olivia, who are uncle and niece, will be on hand on our #VIPizza day at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show on Saturday 22 April 2017 between 12 and 2pm.
